Cup Practice Washed Out

Rain washed out Saturday's practice sessions for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono Raceway.

On Friday, teams only got one practice in before qualifying. Indianapolis winner Jimmie Johnson topped both the practice session and qualifying.

Clint Bowyer, who will race in today's Nationwide race in Montreal, spent some time in race trim yesterday prior to qualifying 30th.

"Good thing we ran some race trims, which typically this year, we haven’t been doing in practice," Bowyer said. "We have been going straight to qualifying trim. I think it was a good call to run some race runs.

"The car was comfortable and I think it will race good. Obviously, we didn’t qualify good, but I am confident that we are going to race well, we always do."

Sunday's weather calls for mostly sunny skies with a high of 74 degrees.

The Pennsylvania 500 will take the green flag at 2 p.m. (ET).
