Court Date For Kahne

A January 8 court date has been set for Kasey Kahne regarding a misdemeanor battery charge in conjunction from a confrontation with a security guard at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Security guard Archibald Hutchinson contends he was pushed to the ground after asking Kahne to present a NASCAR credential on November 16 at Homestead. Kahne did not have his credential with him at the time although he was wearing his driver's uniform.

Hutchinson also filed suit against Kahne in Miami with a claim the incident caused him "severe physical injuries."

The maximum sentence for misdemeanor battery in Florida is one year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
