Haas-CNC Lineup
With Scott Riggs already in the fold, it appears the CNC-Haas organization will field a brand-new two-car team in 2008. While current drivers Jeff Green and Johnny Sauter are battling it out for the one remaining seat with the team next year, several sources have confirmed both David Stremme and Jeremy Mayfield have been in discussions for the open seat.

New Scene for Green
Green may land on his feet and pilot a fourth Joe Gibbs racing entry in 2008. Although no sponsor is on the horizon, JGR has made no secret its desire to expand to the four-car cap next year and with Toyota now on board, the manufacturer may simply support the fourth entry.

Waltrip Finalizing Plans
Now that the future of Dale Jarrett's career with MWR is known, the team is in the midst of a restructuring process for its three-car effort. David Reutimann will slip into the No. 44 UPS Camry when Jarrett steps out and Waltrip will remain behind-the-wheel of the NAPA Camry. But the third entry, which will not carry either Burger King or Domino's colors next year, is yet to be filled. Development drivers Michael McDowell and Josh Wise have been mentioned as possibilities with veteran Johnny Benson, a Waltrip plan, now also on the team's radar.

Hornish to Stay in Open Wheel?
The frustrating effort for Sam Hornish, Jr. to make the move to NASCAR has reportedly sealed the former Indy 500 champion's desire to remain in the Indy Racing League. Hornish has failed to qualify for any of the NEXTEL Cup races he's attempted during the last month and although there are a few more opportunities yet this season, reports are Penske Racing expects the two-time IRL champ to be back on the open wheel side full-time again in 2008.
