Bass Pro Shops Renews With DEI

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla, - It looks like Martin Truex Jr.’s performance in recent weeks has done more than impress his fan base.

Bass Pro Shops has signed a three-year agreement with Dale Earnhardt Inc. to sponsor the No. 1 Chevrolet and driver Martin Truex Jr. through the 2010 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Season.

"Almost from the start, our partnership with Bass Pro Shops has produced great success," said Max Siegel, president of global operations for Dale Earnhardt Inc. "Our companies share the same core values and, from that, we've forged a long term, mutually-beneficial relationship. We're proud of our contributions and appreciate the steadfast support from everyone at Bass Pro Shops and Tracker Boats."

Bass Pro Shops started with DEI in 2003 with a part-time sponsorship of Truex and the No. 8 car in several NASCAR Busch Series races. The deal developed into a full time sponsorship just in time for Truex's back-to-back Busch Series championships beginning in 2004.

In 2006, the partnership made the jump to NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series. Truex won his first career NEXTEL Cup race at Dover International Speedway last month and has posted four top-five and six top-10 finishes to date this season.

"Bass Pro Shops has been an awesome sponsor for me," said Truex. "I have become real close with (Bass Pro Shops Founder) Johnny Morris and all the people at Bass Pro Shops and I wouldn’t want anyone else to sponsor my race car right now. I feel like we have built a great relationship."
