2007 NASCAR TV Schedule Announced

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Broadcast times for the 2007 NASCAR season have been announced, beginning with FOX’s broadcast of the non-points Budweiser Shootout at Daytona 8 p.m. (ET) on Feb. 10 at Daytona International Speedway.

The 2007 season marks the first year of an eight-year partnership between NASCAR and FOX, TNT, ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and SPEED.

NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series events will be seen on FOX, TNT, ABC and ESPN. In addition, two other non-points events – the Gatorade Duel at Daytona (2 p.m., ET on Feb. 15) and the NASCAR NEXTEL All-Star Challenge (7 p.m., ET on May 19 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway), will be broadcast by SPEED. FOX will broadcast the first 13 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup events, beginning with the 49th annual Daytona 500 on Feb. 18 and ending with the June 3 event at Dover International Speedway at 1:30 p.m. (ET).

TNT will broadcast the next six series events, beginning with the Pocono 500 at 1 p.m. (ET) on June 10 at Pocono Raceway and ending with the USG Sheetrock 400 at 3 p.m., on July 15 at Chicagoland Speedway.

ESPN and ABC will broadcast the final 17 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup events. ESPN will broadcast six, beginning with the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard at 1 p.m. (ET) on July 29 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and ending with the Sept. 2 event at California Speedway (7 p.m. ET).

ABC completes the season with 11 broadcasts, beginning with race No. 26, the cutoff event for the Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup – the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at 7 p.m. (ET) at Richmond International Raceway – plus the Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup, encompassing the final 10 series events. The season ends with ABC’s broadcast of the FORD 400 at 3 p.m. (ET) on Nov. 18 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The NASCAR Busch Series season opens the 2007 season with new television partners ABC and ESPN2. ABC will broadcast six events and ESPN2 will broadcast 29. ESPN2 begins with the season-opening ORBITZ 300 at noon (ET) on Feb. 17 at Daytona. ESPN2’s broadcast schedule also includes the series’ return to Mexico City for the March 4 event at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez road course (1:30 p.m. ET), and the series’ first event at the Circuit Gilles Villenueve road course in Montreal Canada on Aug. 4 (3 p.m. ET). ESPN2 also will broadcast the season-finale FORD 300 on Nov. 17 at Homestead-Miami (4 p.m. ET).

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series returns to SPEED for a fifth consecutive season, beginning with the season-opening Chevy Silverado HD 250 on Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m. (ET) at Daytona. The season-finale FORD 200 on Nov. 16 at Homestead-Miami begins at 7:30 p.m. (ET).

For the first time, FOX will broadcast two of the 25 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events – the Kroger 250 on March 31 at 3 p.m. (ET) at Martinsville Speedway and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Ohio 250 on May 26 at 1 p.m. (ET) at Mansfield Motorsports Park.
