CONCORD, N.C. - The 2007 NASCAR NEXTEL Media Tour hosted by Lowe's Motor Speedway came to a close with presentations including Woods Brothers Racing, Evernham Motorsports and Speedway Motorsports highlighting the day.

The Wood Brothers Racing operation opened the day and introduced its NEXTEL Cup Series effort, which will find Jon Wood splitting time with veteran Ken Schrader in the No. 21 Ford.

Marcos Ambrose, who spent the 2006 season in the Craftsman Truck Series, will run a Busch Series effort for the team.

Joey Clanton and Stacy Compton will divide time in one of the team's Craftsman Truck Series entries while 2006 ASA Late Model Challenge Series champion Kelly Bires divides time with veteran Mark Martin in another truck effort.

After the Woods Brothers breakfast was over, Ray Evernham introduced his three-car NEXTEL Cup team of Kasey Kahne, Elliott Sadler and Scott Riggs in the Evernham Motorsports stable.

Along with the new Evernham Cup paint schemes, the new Dodge Avenger Car of Tomorrow was on display.

Mike Accavitti, Director Dodge Motorsports Operations and SRT Planning, gave some opening remarks, which included him offering any of the Dodge drivers their choice of a brand new SRT vehicle if they can win this year's Daytona 500.

"One of our lucky drivers could get his choice of an SRT-10 Viper, an SRT-8 Charger, an SRT-8 Magnum or an SRT-8 Chrysler 300 or even an SRT-8 Jeep Grand Cherokee," Accavitti said.

Kahne already has his mind made up if he wins "The Great American Race."

"I would take the SRT-8 Jeep Grand Cherokee," Kahne said. "I’ve already got the Viper. They gave me one for winning the most races last year."

Evernham will also field a Busch team in 2007 with Kahne scheduled to drive a selected schedule of events carrying Doublemint Gum sponsorship.

Speedway Motorsports held a presentation where Lowe's Motor Speedway president H.A. "Humpy" Wheeler announced the track's new nickname - "The Beast of the Southeast."

Atlanta Motor Speedway president Ed Clark announced the track's March 18th NEXTEL Cup Series race would be known as the Kobalt Tools 500.

And finally SMI chairman Bruton Smith outlined the improvements made at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and also continued to lobby for NASCAR to move the annual NEXTEL Cup Awards Banquet to Las Vegas.

The day concluded with a groundbreaking ceremony for the new NASCAR Hall of Fame in downtown Charlotte.
