The veteran driver joined the Red Horse Racing team and things clicked quickly in their inaugural year on the Craftsman Truck Series.
Starr wound up fourth in the final point standings, a feat that he was pleased with accomplishing.
"Our goal all along has been to finish in the top five in the points standings," Starr said. "This has been my first year with Red Horse Racing and manufacturer Toyota, so if you would have told me that we would have the kind of season that we have - I don't know if I would have believed you."
The season included a trip to victory lane when Starr wheeled his Toyota to the win at Martinsville Speedway in April.
"We have one win," Starr said. "We've been amazing on the short tracks, and we have a good number of top fives and top tens. I'm really thrilled with what this team has done this season."
In all, Starr racked up six top fives and 12 top tens in 2006.
"I'm really proud of what this team was able to get done this season, and I am looking forward to bigger and better things in 2007," Starr said.
