Truex Returning To The Spotlight

All of that has changed, however, as the series prepares for tonight’s Bank of America 500 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
A string of three consecutive top-15 results, including a career best finish of fifth in last week’s UAW-Ford 500, has elevated him to 19th in the standings – a gain of four positions in that time span.
"Yeah, we’re starting to get talked about a lot more in the media now that we’re running well," Truex said. "We’ve had three good finishes in a row, so I guess we’re starting to pop up on some peoples’ radar. It’s kind of funny, really. This is the way the Bass Pro Shops team expected to run all along."
Should he be able to continue his recent hot-streak, however, he will need to rebound from a 26th place starting position in tonight’s 334 lap event. But, with an average finish of 14.0 in two NEXTEL Cup starts at this particular venue, and with three top-10 results in six Busch Series starts at Lowe’s, it is not out of the realm of possibility that Truex will continue his momentum through this weekend and regain his spot in the limelight.
"That’s three good runs in a row. We knew that our luck would eventually get better, and it has. I’m just really proud of the guys and looking forward to the rest of the season."
"I love racing at Charlotte. I’ve had a couple of top-10 runs there in the Busch Series and we had a pretty good car there in May for the Cup race. Things are starting to click for us, so I think we’ll be strong. Plus, it’s a night race; you know it’s going to be wild."
