HOMESTEAD, Fla. - Tickets for NASCAR’s ‘must-see’ annual event, Ford Championship Weekend’s NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, have officially been ‘sold-out’. Ford Championship Weekend, Nov. 17-19, features the season-finales for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup, Busch and Craftsman Truck Series.

As part of Ford Championship Weekend, the sold-out Ford 400 on Sunday, November 19, will conclude the Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup featuring a ten-race, ten-driver shootout for the series championship culminating under the lights at the 1.5 mile Homestead-Miami Speedway.

“Having such an early sellout of tickets for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race is evidence that Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway is becoming one of the hardest tickets to get in all of motorsports,” said NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian France.

“Selling-out NASCAR’s Ford 400 nearly five months early is a credit to the great race fans of South Florida and NASCAR fans across the nation,” said Homestead-Miami Speedway President Curtis Gray. “The season-ending Ford Championship Weekend has built itself into one of our nation’s premier championship events complete with concerts, fan festivals, charity events and driver appearances all culminating with the crowning of the 2006 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Champion.”

Friday, November 18 features the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Ford 200, ‘under the lights’ with the green flag waving at 8 p.m. EDT. Practice sessions for NASCAR NEXTEL Cup and Busch Series along with NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series qualifying will all precede the race.

On Saturday, November 19, night racing continues featuring the Ford 300, the season-finale for the NASCAR Busch Series as well as final qualifying for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Ford 400.

“We’re excited about our Friday and Saturday race schedule,” said Homestead-Miami Speedway President Curtis Gray. “Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway is where ‘NASCAR Champions Are Crowned’ allowing race fans to experience three full-days of racing in beautiful South Florida. It’s the hottest ticket in motorsports.”
