Three Days Of Dale

Dale Earnhardt Jr. will pilot a special black Budweiser Chevrolet during his "three" days of on track action this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway in honor of his father's induction into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.

Along with Junior, Dale Earnhardt, Inc. will field three more special paint schemes that resemble the famous No. 3 with Martin Truex Jr. and Paul Menard.

"I think this is a great tribute to Dale on such a special weekend," said Teresa Earnhardt, President and CEO of Dale Earnhardt, Inc. "To have all of our sponsors come together with this tribute and want to be a part of it says a lot about the respect they have for Dale’s accomplishments."

No other track but Talladega would be the perfect place to run the tribute car, as the late Earnhardt dominated at the superspeedway during his career winning 10 Cup Series races there.

Combined both Earnhardt's have captured 15 wins, 35 top 10s and have led 1869 laps at the 2.66-mile speedway.

Earnhardt will join Harry Gant, Janet Guthrie, Jack Roush and H. A. “Humpy” Wheeler to make up the IMHOF class of 2006.

Earnhardt Jr. is scheduled to appear live on QVC’s For Race Fans Only from Talladega on Friday at 8 p.m. (ET). This could be the first time we see a die-cast version of the special black car.

This weekend be sure to check back with RacingOne for photos of each car on the track from Talladega.

Story updated at 10:05 a.m. (ET) on April 25 after the official announcement.
