Kenseth Stays With Roush

Kenseth has signed a long-term deal to stay with Roush Racing, a move that will keep the 2003 NEXTEL Cup Series champion in the No. 17 DeWalt Ford and removes his name from the potential free agent list after the 2006 season.
The Wisconsin driver had been mentioned as a possible target of Toyota next season, but will now be firmly in the Roush camp for years to come.
"We are very pleased that Matt extended his contract with Roush Racing," said team owner Jack Roush. "Matt is one of the most talented drivers in the garage and he'll always hold a special place in our organization, having helped to bring us our first Cup championship in 2003."
Terms of the new deal were not announced.
"It's very assuring knowing that he will be staying on with us and I know that the first goal on his agenda is to take that championship trophy back," Roush said.
Since joining Roush in 1999, Kenseth has racked up ten NEXTEL Cup Series wins.
