  • Matt Kenseth will sport a special Maxwell House/Post paint scheme in the 2006 Budweiser Shootout at Daytona.

  • Jeremy Mayfield and Kasey Kahne will have new paint schemes in 2006. Each car will still carry the traditional red on the hood to the rear of the car, but each will be painted differently on the sides in white (Kahne) and Mayfield (black). Brian Vickers' No. 25 GMAC Chevrolet will also take on a new look next season and will carry the same blue, white and red colors of his 2003 championship Busch Series ride. - see picture for all three cars.

  • Jeff Gordon will return in the Pepsi car at Talladega and Daytona next season. The soft drink will also me a major associate of Gordon and Hendrick Motorsports through 2010.

  • Kyle Petty and Jeff Green will have the movie "Chronicles of Narnia" on their cars at Texas.

  • For the second consecutive year Casey Mears will drive a pink Breast Cancer Awareness paint scheme in the month of October starting at Talladega Superspeedway.

  • Kyle Petty and Scott Riggs will bring the University of Florida and Florida State football teams to NASCAR at Homestead-Miami Speedway in November. Checkers, the Official Drive-Thru Restaurant of NASCAR and both teams, will sponsor both drivers with the Florida State Seminoles on Riggs's No. 10 and the University of Florida Gators on Petty's No. 45.

  • Jeremy Mayfield's No. 19 Dodge will go black at Kansas Speedway to promote Mountain Dew's new black grape flavor drink. Also, Kevin Harvick will sport a red, white and silver Snap-On 85th Anniversary paint scheme at Lowe's Motor Speedway in October.

  • Rusty Wallace will race a special "Blue Flames" Miller Lite paint scheme in the night race at Bristol.

  • POWERade will sponsor Bobby Labonte in the Sharpie 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. The baby blue and black car will feature NBA star LeBron James on the hood sketched out like his online comic book character in "King James" on POWERade.com. LeBron will have a POWERade flavor named after him called "FLAVA23" that will hit stores on Oct. 1.

  • Carl Edwards will sport a special red and white Office Depot "Back to School" paint scheme at Watkins Glen International Raceway. The car will feature a blackboard on the hood a various school supplies: pencils, scissors, etc. all over the car.

  • Robby Gordon will run a Jim Beam Black paint scheme at Richmond Int'l Raceway in September.

  • Ken Schrader will be back in the Red Baron frozen pizza colors in the Allstate 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

  • I'm hearing that Mark Martin will conclude his "Salute to You" tour at Homestead-Miami Speedway with his standard Viagra paint scheme. The special 1981 orange and white paint scheme that Mark was originally slated to run at Homestead will now run at Phoenix Int'l Raceway. This car will resemble the same car he made his first Cup Series start in. The switch was said to be made because of a scheduling change from Martin's sponsor Pfizer.

  • Scott Wimmer will race a special "CAT Chopper" paint scheme at Dover Int'l Speedway in September.

  • Ryan Newman will race the Mobil 1 Speedpass paint scheme for the second time in July in the Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono Raceway. Newman, who raced this weekend's paint scheme at Chicagoland Speedway, also ran a Mobil sponsored car at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March, but it was to promote Mobil 1's Extended Performance motor oil.

  • Rusty Wallace will drive a St. Louis themed paint scheme in the Wallace Family Tribute 250 at Gateway Int'l Raceway. The special paint scheme will have the Gateway Arch and sponsorship from the Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers/St. Louis Post-Dispatch on it for his return home.

  • Kurt Busch will be back in the IRWIN Tools colors in the New England 300 at New Hampshire Int'l Speedway. This is the same paint scheme Busch swept both events at NHIS with in 2004.

  • Sterling Marlin will pilot a purple Prilosec OTC paint scheme in the Pepsi 400 at Daytona International Speedway. Kenny Wallace (Aaron's - Dodge), Jamie McMurray (Home123), Carl Edwards (Pennzoil) and Kyle Petty (Stars and Stripes) are just some of the other special paint schemes that will race in the Daytona Summer classic.   • Tony Stewart will race a KaBOOM! paint scheme at California in September. As part of the Racing to Play Program Home Depot has teamed up with KaBOOM! to build playgrounds in communities across the U.S. Last week, Stewart and the Home Depot team helped build a playground in Jackson, Michigan.   • Joe Nemechek will commemorate the U.S. ARMY's 230th birthday with a camouflage paint scheme at Pocono in June.

  • Kasey Kahne will make another appearance in the Mopar colors at Charlotte in October. Last year, Kahne dominated the race in his first start in the Mopar paint scheme, leading 207 laps before blowing a right front tire and crashing into the wall on lap 267.

  • Dave Blaney will help celebrate Jack Daniel's 155th birthday with a special paint scheme at Bristol and California.

  • Bass Pro Shops will be the primary sponsor of Dave Blaney's No. 07 at Richmond (May) and Jeff Burton's No. 31 at Chicagoland this season.

  • Rusty Wallace will be back in the black and gold colors of Miller Genuine Draft at Chicagoland Speedway in July.

  • Kasey Kahne's No. 9 Dodge will help promote the movie "The Longest Yard" at Talladega on May 1.

  • Mark Martin will take flight with Batman at Michigan in June to promote the new movie Batman Begins.

  • Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick and Scott Riggs have been added to the Rock & Roll program at Richmond in September. Burton will have Big & Rich on his No. 31 Chevrolet and music singer Gretchen Wilson will be on the other Richard Childress machine of Kevin Harvick. Finally, the rock band Nickelback will join Riggs for the September 10th event. Also see March 31.

  • Rusty Wallace will drive a Snap-on Tools paint scheme at Infineon Raceway in June. The paint scheme will be white and feature the Snap-On logo on the hood and the Snap-on 85th anniversary logo on the rear quarter panels.

  • Kevin Harvick will pilot a special Twizzlers paint scheme in the Busch race at Richmond in May. The car will be promoting the new Twizted Pull-n-Peel candy that comes in two flavors Berry and Paradise.

  • Terry Labonte will return in his 1984 championship colors in the Texas spring race. GMAC will sponsor the car that resembles the Piedmont Airlines paint scheme Labonte drove from 1984-1986.

  • Hendrick Motorsports teammates Kyle Busch and Brian Vickers will race special Cartoon Network paint schemes at Bristol Motor Speedway in August. Busch’s No. 5 Chevrolet will be painted red, white and blue and feature the cartoon character Johnny Bravo. Scooby Doo will join Vickers as his No. 25 Chevrolet will be painted lime green to look like the Mystery Machine.

  • Dale Earnhardt Jr. will rock Richmond in September as the band 3 Doors Down will be featured on his No. 8 Chevrolet in the Chevy Rock & Roll 400. In 2003, Tony Stewart raced a 3 Doors Down Chevrolet for Chance 2 Motorsports in the Michigan Busch race, the same year Stewart and Dale Jr. were featured in the band's video for the song The Road I'm On.

  • Bill Elliott will be back behind the wheel of the McDonald's Dodge for two races this season after the company signed a partnership agreement with Evernham Motorsports. The deal will give McDonald's primary sponsorship on Elliott's No. 91 (Should be able to run the No. 91 not No. 98 since they signed an agreement) at Michigan in June and California in September. They will also be an associate with Kasey Kahne and Elliott - when he's not running the McDonald's colors.

  • Rusty Wallace will be back with the Kodak colors at Texas Motor Speedway in April. Last year, Wallace had the Kodak sponsorship on his No. 2 Dodge at Watkins Glen, marking the first time he raced for another sponsor since being with the Miller Brewing Company.

  • Elliott Sadler will be back behind the wheel of the Combos car for the first time in 2005 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

  • Dave Blaney will feature Jack Daniels newest Country Cocktails, "Black Jack Cola" on his No. 07 Chevrolet at Pocono and Michigan in June.

  • Kyle Busch will have the movie "Robots" on his No. 5 Kellogg's Chevrolet at Las Vegas. The car will feature a nuts-and-bolts Robots-themed paint scheme.

  • Tony Stewart and Bobby Labonte will have the upcoming animated feature film, "Madagascar" on their Joe Gibbs Racing Chevrolets at Lowe's Motor Speedway in May. Stewart will have "Alex the lion" along for the ride in the NEXTEL All-Star Challenge and "Marty the zebra" will be on Labonte's No. 18 during the Coca-Cola 600.

  • Jeff Gordon will return with another Pepsi paint scheme in the Pepsi 400 at Daytona in July. The last two years Gordon was seen driving a Pepsi Billion Dollar scheme in the “Mid-Summer Classic" and in 2002, Gordon raced a red, white and blue Fourth of July design.

  • Scott Riggs will have the movie "Herbie: Fully Loaded" on his No. 10 Chevrolet at Daytona in July and Phoenix in November. As announced last month, Riggs will join Jarrett, who will race a Herbie paint scheme at Infineon, as the second driver to promote the movie, which has scenes filmed at California Speedway.

  • Kasey Kahne will make a return in his popular "Pit Cap" paint scheme at Indianapolis in August. This season the car will feature a reverse paint scheme that will take after the car he debuted at Darlington in 2004.

  • Greg Biffle will drive a yellow and green Subway sponsored car at Phoenix (First race) and Martinsville (Second race). The Subway logo will be featured on the hood and rear quarter panels with National Guard on the deck lid. Also Kevin Harvick has added a special Brickyard 400 paint scheme to the four schemes he will race this season to celebrate GM Goodwrench's 20 years with RCR. The car features both trophies and dates that RCR won the Brickyard with Dale Earnhardt (1995) and Kevin Harvick (2003).

  • Jeff Gordon will drive a special reverse DuPont paint scheme in the NEXTEL All-Star Challenge. Also, Kyle Busch will sport a Star Wars Episode III paint scheme at Richmond in May that will feature Darth Vader.

  • Bobby Hamilton Jr. will race a 'blue' Tide Coldwater paint scheme in the Daytona 500. Tide Coldwater is the latest addition to the Tide family of detergents.

  • Carl Edwards has added two more primary sponsors on his No. 99 Ford in 2005 with Ortho and World Financial Group. The black, gray and yellow Ortho Season Long Grass and Weed Killer paint scheme will race at Talladega in May. World Financial will be on the car at California (First race), Las Vegas, Atlanta (First race) and Phoenix (First race).

  • Casey Mears will help smokers "Kick the habit" with a Nicorette nicotine gum paint scheme at Atlanta in March.

  • Brian Vickers' No. 25 Chevrolet will have a bright green Garnier Fructis (Haircare brand owned by L'Oreal USA) color scheme at Texas Motor Speedway (First race) and at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in August. Garnier Fructis will also be a major associate sponsor.

  • Jasper Engines & Transmissions will return as the primary sponsor of the No. 77 Dodge driven by Travis Kvapil for four races in 2005. The scheduled races for the Jasper car are: Texas (April), Dover (June), Chicago (July) and Atlanta (October).
  • Tony Stewart will commemorate James Dean's career with a special paint scheme on a Kevin Harvick owned Chevrolet in the Busch Series event at Indianapolis Raceway Park on August 6th, the 50th anniversary of Dean's death.

    UPDATE: Hearing Jeff Gordon will run a TBA movie paint scheme at Talladega in May. Back in December I said Gordon possibly could run a Star Wars scheme with Dale Jarrett and Elliott Sadler at Phoenix. Could this be the Star Wars scheme? Just a thought: Pepsi, who usually sponsors Gordon in the Spring Talladega race, sponsored Gordon in the Busch Series and Star Wars Episode I was featured on the car at Lowe's Motor Speedway in 1999.

  • Dale Jarrett will help promote the movie "Herbie: Fully Loaded" with a special paint scheme at Infineon Raceway in June. This is the same movie, which features Lindsay Lohan, Matt Dillon and Michael Keaton, that was filmed during the 2004 Pop Secret 500 weekend Sept. 3-5 at California Speedway.

    Also, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. will race the blue Menards car in the Busch Series race in April at Talladega. Last season he finished second in this event driving the Taco Bell car.

    Finally, Michael Waltrip and Kyle Petty have been added to the Mother's Day special paint scheme program at Darlington.

  • CARQUEST Auto Parts, who sponsored Kyle Busch's part-time NEXTEL Cup effort in 2004, will return this season as primary sponsor of the No. 5 Chevrolet in five races. The races are California (First race), Bristol (First race), Lowe's (First race), Kansas and Texas (Second race).

  • Greg Biffle's No. 16 Ford will be sponsored by Post-It notes for nine races in 2005 starting at California. The other races that will feature the red, white and blue Post-It paint scheme are the first races at Atlanta (First race), Texas (First race), Darlington, Pocono (First race), Infineon, Chicago, Talladega (Second race) and Phoenix (Second race).

  • Kurt Busch will race another Sharpie special paint scheme at both Bristol races in 2005 featuring the retractable autographs for education marketing program. The No. 97 will carry the familiar Sharpie black colors and the autographs for education logo on the hood and rear quarter panels. Last Spring, Busch put the Sharpie 40th Anniversary car in Victory Lane at Bristol and placed eighth in the August event (Sharpie 500) driving the Sharpie RT Click paint scheme.

  • Evernham teammates Jeremy Mayfield and Kasey Kahne will sport retro themed paint schemes in the Bud Shootout at Daytona. Also Kahne will return with another Mountain Dew paint scheme at California in February.

  • Dale Jarrett will celebrate Mother's Day at Darlington with a special paint scheme that will feature a childhood picture of Dale riding in his Dad's race car.

  • Elliott Sadler, Dale Jarrett and possibly Jeff Gordon will celebrate the opening (May 19, 2005) of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith with special paint schemes scheduled to race at Phoenix. Sadler's M&M's car will feature "The Dark Side" with the M&M's characters dressed up as Darth Vader and other members of the dark side. Jarrett will also have M&M's on his car? and will feature "The Good Side" with characters like R2-D2 and Princess Leia. No word yet on if Gordon will participate.

  • Jamie McMurray, who rasies money for the Autism Society of America, will race a ASA paint scheme at Bristol in April.

  • Dale Earnhardt Jr. will return with three Bud Born on Date paint schemes at Daytona in February.

  • Jamie McMurray will race five different Texaco/Havoline "Shine On" paint schemes in 2005. McMurray will drive the first special paint scheme at Texas on April 17.

  • In 2005, Robert Yates teammates Elliott Sadler and Dale Jarrett will split driving duties in the Busch Series driving the No. 90 red, white and blue CitiFinancial Ford.

  • Mark Martin, who will be retiring from full-time Nextel Cup racing at the conclusion of the 2005 season, will drive some special paint schemes during his "Salute to You" tour that will resemble some cars of the past in his illustrious career. Read More...

  • Mark Martin will race another Kraft paint scheme in the 2005 Budweiser Shootout at Daytona. The red, white and blue paint scheme will help showcase Kraftfoods.com and a new promotion where you can win free groceries for life.

  • AAPA Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper will sponsor Evernham Motorsports' No. 79 Dodge and drivers Kasey Kahne and Jeremy Mayfield in two NASCAR Busch races in 2005. Kahne will race the July 17 event at New Hampshire and Mayfield will be behind the wheel of the new Dodge at Lowe's Motor Speedway in October. AAPA will also sponsor Bill Elliott and the No. 91 Dodge in the Nextel Cup Series at Michigan in August and Texas in November.

  • USG/Sheetrock, which sponsored Joe Nemechek this season, will be on Matt Kenseth's No. 17 Ford for selected races in 2005. The car will look similar to Nemechek's No. 01 that carried the Red, White and Blue USG colors. Carhartt will also return as a sponsor of the No. 17 next season. This year Kenseth raced the Carhartt paint scheme at Michigan in June.

  • Rusty Wallace will kick off his "Last Call" 2005 retirement tour with a special black paint scheme at Daytona. (Not sure if it will be the Shootout, 500 or both). The car will feature the "Last Call" logo on the hood along with the Miller Lite graphics. The No. 2 will remain white, unlike the gold No. 2 on the tribute car that was unveiled at the press announcement back in August.

    (November 1, 2004) - Trex Decking and Railing Corp. will sponsor Matt Kenseth at the 2005 Atlanta Spring race. The car will be black with a silver/gray front end that will streak towards the rear of the car. Trex will be present on the rear quarter-panels and on the hood. Dewalt will remain on the decklid.
