Congratulations to Tony Stewart for a well-earned title. It was a pleasure to watch the Joe Gibbs Racing team's success this year and Tony's maturity as a driver, and a person. More titles will no doubt come if this team stays intact.

Rebecca Pellier, Jacksonville, Florida

Kudos to "Smoke" for winning what he truly deserved. After the mid-summer stretch of domination, Stewart and his team didn't back down. They kept going out and doing what they had to do week in and week out and it ended in another trophy.

Kevin George, Plymouth, Indiana

The "Chase" turned out to be another hit this year with a championship battle that went right down to the wire. Maybe give the winner of a race more points, but otherwise leave the format alone. It works.

Brad Trembley, Columbia, South Carolina

Although the "Chase" wasn't as exciting as last year's finale at Homestead, I thought the playoff season provided a lot of interesting stories. In the end the best driver won, no matter how the format awarded points.

Larry Phillips, Kilgore, Texas

Has the experiment ended with the bogus "Chase?" The trumped up format didn't produce the kind of excitement that NASCAR promised for a second straight year. Put back the real way to crown a champion and give points for every race, not just a few at the end of the year that try to bring meaning to a season.

Val Ward, Fairview Heights, Illinois

Sorry NASCAR, but the "Chase" isn't the great product you're trying to sell to us. Go back to the old way of doing things which is much fairer than this makeshift playoff system.

Hank Ingram, Newell, North Carolina

Greg Biffle wins six times and is not the champion. That has always been the problem in NASCAR no matter what format is used to award points. Winning should matter the most and the driver that goes to victory lane the most in a season should be the champion.

Rob Busija, Des Plaines, Illinois

I love the "Chase." The old farts that don't like it should find something better to do with their time and stop whining about everything wrong with NASCAR. Get off the bus!

William Turrow, Grand Rapids, Michigan

Thanks for the memories Rusty and congratulations on a fantastic career. Today's younger drivers like the Busch boys should take a lesson from you on how to be a professional on and off the track. You'll be missed.

Cal Frence, Valdosta, Georgia

Will there ever be another driver like Rusty Wallace? No is the answer. It is a sad day for NASCAR fans that such a classy driver and gentleman will no longer be strapping into his car every week.

Jerry Einrun, Farmington, Massachusetts

NBC not giving any time to Ricky Rudd Sunday was criminal. He may not be as flashy as a Rusty Wallace but was certainly deserving much more attention for his career than he received.

Paula Fairchild, Tulare, California
