Bowyer Replaces Blaney

CONCORD, N.C. - As RacingOne reported earlier this week, Clint Bowyer has been named driver of the Richard Childress Racing Jack Daniels No. 07 Chevrolet for the 2006 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series season replacing current pilot Dave Blaney.

The current driver of RCR's AC Delco Busch Series entry, Bowyer will add the full-time NEXTEL Cup duties to his schedule in 2006.

"It's a dream come true for me," explained Bowyer. "This is exactly what I've worked my whole life for - trying to get a shot. Fortunately I'm getting a shot with one of the best car owners in the business and one of the newest and coolest sponsors in the series."

In addition to naming Bowyer as the new driver of the No. 07, RCR also announced Jack Daniels has extended its sponsorship through the 2009 season.
