Idriver Handicaps:/I Dover

1. Tony Stewart
Points: 5230
Avg. Start: 15.1
Avg. Finish: 5.1

In 13 races at Dover Int'l Speedway, Stewart has posted two wins (both in 2000), nine top-five and 11 top-10 finishes. His average finish is the best among all active drivers with two or more starts. Stewart has completed 5,198 of a possible 5,200 laps at Dover, and has led 1,066 laps. He will race a brand new race car (chassis No. 110) in the MBNA 400.

Quotable: "Dover is a track that's constantly changing. But it's one of those places where you really can't change your driving style. You still have to do the same things you always do. It's just a matter of finding the package that's right for that race track."

2. Greg Biffle
Points: 5210
Avg. Start: 16.7
Avg. Finish: 18.0

Biffle scored his first win and second top-10 finish at Dover Int'l Speedway this past June. In that race he started second on points and led for the first time at Dover for a total of 150 laps. He qualified a best fifth in his first outing at the track in the 2002 fall race. Biffle, who also has two Busch Series wins at Dover, will race the same car (chassis RK-275) he drove to victory at California in February.

Quotable: "Dover has always been a pretty good track for me. I had my first Cup win there this June and it was a very special win."

3. Ryan Newman
Points: 5190
Avg. Start: 8.0
Avg. Finish: 6.7

Newman has put together a pretty impressive record in his seven starts at Dover Int'l Speedway. In the last five races, Newman has captured three wins and has led 602 laps. Last fall, Newman dominated the race leading 325 laps en route to his only win in the "Chase for the Cup." His only pole at Dover came when he won from the top spot in this event in 2003. Dover is one of three tracks where Newman owns a higher average finish than average start, which is the best among active drivers. Newman will drive the same car (chassis PRS-46), nicknamed "Monster" that visited Victory Lane last year at Dover. This car also finished fifth at Lowe's Motor Speedway and Pocono Raceway this season.

Quotable: "This is an absolutely great track to have in the 'Chase.' The Alltel team has, continuously, run really well there. We already look forward to racing at Dover, and with last weekend's win in New Hampshire we're even more anxious to get there."

4. Rusty Wallace
Points: 5190
Avg. Start: 8.9
Avg. Finish: 12.6

Wallace has posted three wins and 21 top-10s in 43 Cup races at Dover Int'l Speedway. His five pole positions currently leads all active drivers. He has completed 17,448 of a possible 19,900 laps at Dover, and has led 873 laps. His finishing average of 11.9 is ranked third among drivers that have started the last 10 races.

Quotable: "The statistics are important if you're a numbers-type guy, but some of the races we've
had at Dover through the years are really classics."

5. Matt Kenseth
Points: 5180
Avg. Start: 17.8
Avg. Finish: 14.6

Kenseth made his first Cup start at Dover Int'l Speedway back in 1998 when he stepped in for Bill Elliott. This weekend will mark Kenseth's 14th start at the 1-mile oval. In his previous starts, Kenseth captured seven top-10 finishes with his best (second) coming in the June event in 2000. He will be driving the same car (chassis RK-39) that has posted four top-10 finishes in five starts this season. Kenseth was ranked 23rd in the championship standings when the series visited Dover in June.

Quotable: "Dover is particularly special to me because I got my first Cup Series start there back in 1998, subbing for Bill Elliott."

6. Jimmie Johnson
Points: 5177
Avg. Start: 8.9
Avg. Finish: 13.4

Johnson won in his first two starts at Dover International Speedway after leading a combined total of 358 laps in 2002. Last year in the June event Johnson posted his second DNF when he finished 32nd. In the next two races he bounced back to finish 10th and fourth, respectively, to mark his fourth and fifth top-10 finish at the "Monster Mile." Johnson will race the same car (chassis No. 48329) that led 24 laps at Dover in June.

Quotable: "The biggest difference is the surface and the way the track is laid down. When you think about concrete, it is laid in squares so you have multiple seams and it feels like driving on a washboard road at times because you are going over those seams where they poured the slab. It really jars the car and it is a rough ride all the way around the track."

7. Mark Martin
Points: 5176
Avg. Start: 10.2
Avg. Finish: 13.4

Martin's last of four wins at Dover Int'l Speedway came in the June race in 2004. In the next two races, Martin finished second and third for his series leading 17th and 18th top five at the "Monster Mile." He is second among active drivers in laps led at Dover with 1,651.

Quotable: "The very first time I went to Dover, I loved it from the start. It is definitely in my list of top tracks and there probably is no cooler track to go and race on."

8. Jeremy Mayfield
Points: 5135
Avg. Start: 17.0
Avg. Finish: 18.5

Mayfield swept both pole positions at Dover Int'l Speedway last season. His qualifying lap of 161.522 mph, set last June, still stands as the qualifying record. It was his second and third career pole at the "Monster Mile." In 23 Dover starts, Mayfield has earned four top fives and seven top 10s. His best finish (second) came in the 2003 fall race. Last year he finished eighth and seventh, respectively, and led 78 laps in the June race. He then went on to finish 14th in this year's spring race.

Quotable: "You know, for us it's like a breath of fresh air really because we knew that Loudon was our weak link of the top 10 races there. Going to Dover for us really is a challenge in itself, but it's a good challenge. I mean, I like the place, I love going there, I love racing there."

9. Carl Edwards
Points: 5121
Avg. Start: 11.5
Avg. Finish: 17.0

Edwards scored his best finish of 16th in two career starts at Dover Int'l Speedway this past June. This weekend Edwards will be back in the Office Depot colors and will drive the same car (chassis RK-272) that raced at Las Vegas and Fontana in the first part of the season.

Quotable: "Handling is really important at Dover. It's pretty much a one groove track so you need to handle well through the center of the corners in order to keep your position."

10. Kurt Busch
Points: 5088
Avg. Start: 13.2
Avg. Finish: 19.6

Busch heads to Dover Int'l Speedway in the 10th-place spot in the standings, the same position he was in when the series visited the speedway in June. Sunday's race will mark Busch's 11th at Dover. He scored his first top-five at the track with a fifth-place finish in this event last year. In June he captured his third top 10 with a ninth-place finish. Busch has led in two races for 13 laps and has posted three DNFs. Busch will be behind the wheel of a brand new chassis (No. 70), with the Crown Royal colors, this weekend.

Quotable: "When I first started out in the Cup series, Dover was one of my favorite tracks. I made my first Cup start there in 2000 and we qualified well at 10th place, and went on to finish 18th, so it was a solid way to kick off our Cup series efforts."

11. Jamie McMurray
Points: 3099
Avg. Start: 13.0
Avg. Finish: 13.6

McMurray has finished in the top 10 twice in five starts at Dover Int'l Speedway. His best finish (sixth) came in the spring two years ago. McMurray will race chassis No. 403 at Dover. This car will be making its 12th start in 2005. The chassis finished a best second at Texas.

12. Jeff Gordon
Points: 3098
Avg. Start: 9.6
Avg. Finish: 11.9

Gordon will be making his 26th start at Dover Int'l Speedway this weekend. With four wins at the track, he is tied with fellow active drivers Mark Martin and Ricky Rudd for the most wins at the track. He last won on June 3, 2001. Gordon also leads all active drivers with the most laps led at "the Monster Mile" with 2,117. On a track that he considers one of his favorites, he has finished in the top five 12 times and the top 10 16 times and has started on the pole twice.

13. Kevin Harvick
Points: 3076
Avg. Start: 20.8
Avg. Finish: 17.4

Harvick's best finish (fourth) in nine races at Dover Int'l Speedway came in the 2003 fall race. The finish marked his only top-five and the only time he led at Dover (133 laps). Last year in the spring event Harvick finished 10th for his fourth top-10 at the track. He finished 25th this past June.

14. Elliott Sadler
Points: 3067
Avg. Start: 14.5
Avg. Finish: 19.1

Sadler comes to Dover Int'l Speedway understanding the importance of bringing his 'A' game. Even though he's been running at the finish in each of his 12 races at the track, Dover has not been a place where he has raced well in the past. Sadler finished 18th or worse in his last five of the last six races at the speedway until equaling his best finish of 10th in June.

15. Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Points: 2999
Avg. Start: 12.5
Avg. Finish: 15.1

Earnhardt Jr. is making his 12th appearance at Dover Int'l Speedway. He won his only race at the track in September 2001, in the first race following 9/11. In addition to his win, Dale Jr. has three top fives and five top 10s at the 1-mile track. He has led in seven races for 365 laps. His best start came at the fall event in 2003 where he led 48 laps before posting a DNF.

16. Joe Nemechek
Points: 2967
Avg. Start: 18.9
Avg. Finish: 23.5

Nemechek ended a string of three-straight DNFs at Dover Int'l Speedway this past June by finishing 27th. His best finish (fourth) at the track, and only top-five, came on September 17, 1995.

17. Dale Jarrett
Points: 2967
Avg. Start: 16.1
Avg. Finish: 18.1

Jarrett has one win (May 21, 1998) and 14 top 10s in 37 races at Dover Int'l Speedway. He holds the best finishing average (11.5) among all drivers that have entered every race (15) since 1998. Last year, he finished fourth in this event. The last time Jarrett led a lap at Dover was in the 2002 fall race when he led 14 of a track-total 545 laps. He will return in the same car (chassis No. 47) that teammate Elliott Sadler raced at Lowe's Motor Speedway in May.

18. Brian Vickers
Points: 2911
Avg. Start: 11.0
Avg. Finish: 22.3

Vickers has posted two third-place qualifying efforts in his two starts at Dover Int'l Raceway, but posted two DNFs in those races. In June he finished his first race at Dover by placing sixth. Dover is site of Vickers' last NASCAR win when he went to Victory Lane in the 2003 September Busch Series race.

19. Jeff Burton
Points: 2834
Avg. Start: 25.3
Avg. Finish: 19.0

In 23 starts at Dover Int'l Speedway, Burton has five top fives and eight top 10s. His best finish of third last came in the June event in 2002. Burton has only started in the top 10 once, sixth at the fall event in 1994. One year ago he posted a DNF and finished 33rd.

20. Kyle Busch
Points: 2830
Avg. Start: 22.0
Avg. Finish: 2.0

In June, Busch led 90 laps and finished second in his first NEXTEL Cup Series start at Dover Int'l Speedway.

21. Michael Waltrip
Points: 2774
Avg. Start: 20.6
Avg. Finish: 20.6

Waltrip's best finish at Dover Int'l Speedway is a pair of fifth-place finishes, with the last one coming on September 15, 1991. Overall, Waltrip has posted eight top 10s and 12 DNFs. He won his first career Cup pole at Dover on May 31, 1991. Dover is also the site of Waltrip's first career Busch Series win (1998).

22. Kasey Kahne
Points: 2763
Avg. Start: 16.0
Avg. Finish: 32.7

Kahne made his first start at Dover Int'l Speedway in June of 2004 and appeared to be on his way to his first win until he crashed after hitting oil with 20 laps to go. In that race he started a track best 12th and finished 21st after leading 36 laps. In the fall race, Kahne finished 42nd when the engine expired in his No. 9 Dodge, only 13 laps into the race. This year he posted his third consecutive DNF when he finished 35th.

23. Ricky Rudd
Points: 2619
Avg. Start: 12.9
Avg. Finish: 14.0

Rudd leads all active drivers with 26 top-10s at Dover Int'l Speedway. He is tied with Mark Martin with four victories and poles, and has led in 17 races for 1,019 laps. Rudd's last win came on June 1, 1997.

24. Bobby Labonte
Points: 2605
Avg. Start: 12.7
Avg. Finish: 15.3

Labonte made his first Cup Series start at Dover Int'l Speedway on June 2, 1991. Since then, Labonte has competed in 25 more races at the "Monster Mile" capturing one win (1999), three poles, 11 top-five and 13 top-10 finishes. The last time Labonte led a lap was in the June event back in 2003 when he led 34 circuits of a track total 143. It was also the last time he finished in the top 10.

30. Scott Riggs
Points: 2368
Avg. Start: 20.7
Avg. Finish: 15.7

Riggs has competed in three races at Dover Int'l Speedway. He captured his best finish of fifth in his first start in June 2004. Last fall Riggs posted his first DNF at Dover, finishing 31st.
