Gordon OK After Dakar Crash

Robby Gordon and co-driver Dirk von Zitzewitz both walked away unhurt after rolling their Volkswagen Race-Touareg in Wednesday's sixth stage of the Dakar Rally.

Both Gordon and von Zitzewitz had to stop and wait for help from one of the two Volkswagen Race-Trucks.

"Thankfully Gordon escaped unhurt from his accident," said Volkswagen Motorsport Director Kris Nissen. "We will have to wait till the car is in the bivouac before we'll know whether he can continue or not."

The first marathon-stage looms with the 660 kilometre stage from Zouerat to Tichit on Thursday.
