Third Eye Blind, who kicked off the promotion for the Chevy Rock & Roll weekend at an unveiling in Charlotte, N.C. in May will be carried around the track with Steve Park. While the No. 8 car of Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be going around the track with Stained. Stained, currently on their summer tour, made a pit stop to perform in Indianapolis on July 31st as part of the promotional events for the weekend. Both groups will be performing on September 6.
Frankie Perez and Sugar Ray will be kicking off the concert festivities on Friday September 5th. Ron Hornaday will be driving with the Frankie Perez paint scheme in the No. 2 car during the FUNAI 250. Sugar Ray will be making the rounds with Kevin Harvick in the Winston Cup race. The concerts are free to all those fans that have purchased tickets to the respective races.
There are seven Chevrolet Monte Carlo's that will be carrying the WMG paint schemes that will shine at Richmond’s .75-mile track under the lights. The full list of pairings for the weekend is as follows:
Also on August 16th, Tony Stewart will pilot a 3 Doors Down Chevy for Chance 2 Motorsports in the Busch Series event at Michigan International Speedway. Stewart, who was featured in the 3 Doors Down video "The Road I'm On" with Dale Earnhardt Jr., will run the No. 8 for Teresa Earnhardt and Dale Jr. The 3 Doors Down No. 8 Chevrolet is currently available in the RacingOne FanShop to purchase.
Stewart will take the green flag at Michigan at 1:30 p.m. (ET), TNT and MRN will cover the Busch Series event in the Irish Hills.
The Chevy Rock & Roll 400 and FUNAI 250 will be televised on TNT beginning at 8 p.m. (ET) on September 5th (Busch), and 7 p.m (ET) on September 6th (Cup).
