BROOKLYN, MICH. - Bobby Labonte drove his Interstate Batteries Chevrolet to the pole Friday afternoon in qualifying for the Sirius Satellite Radio 400 at Michigan International Speedway with a lap of 190.365 mph.

Labonte earned his third Bud Pole Award of the 2003 season and edged his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Tony Stewart in the process. Stewart, coming off his first win of the season last weekend at Pocono, will start oustide the front row after a lap of 189.464 mph.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. qualified third followed by Kurt Busch and Tery Labonte.

Jeff Gordon, Elliott Sadler, Ryan Newman, Michael Waltrip and Ryan Newman completed the first ten qualifiers.

Sunday's Sirius Satellite Radio 400 will take the green flag at 1 p.m. (ET).
