Teamwork Produces 14Th For Schrader

BROOKLYN, Mich. - The “M&M’s”® Racing Team’s “never-give-up attitude” was evident at Michigan International Speedway. After starting 27th and falling back as far as 38th, it was teamwork that helped produce a 14th-place finish for Ken Schrader and the “M&M’s”® Racing Team. The 14th-place effort ties the team’s best finish of the season.

In the early stages of the Pepsi 400, Schrader reported to the crew that he had his hands full with an ill-handling race car. The No. 36 fell back as far as 38th-place early in the event. The handling problems with the “M&M’s”® Pontiac did not discourage the pit crew though.

During several stops, the crew made multiple adjustments in hopes of improving the handling on the No. 36 “M&M’s”® car. The adjustments were just what Schrader needed as the team began a steady climb through the field.

With less than 20 laps remaining, Schrader and the “M&M’s”® car were in 25th place when the caution flag waved. Several cars elected to pit, but the “M&M’s”® team were happy with their car. To gain track position, the No. 36 crew decided to stay on track.

Schrader finished the race in 14th-place.

“There’s a lot of determination in this “M&M’s”® Racing Team, and I think everyone saw that today,” Schrader said. “We’ve been knocking on the door of the Top 10 the past few weeks, and I sure would like for us to get there next week at Bristol. I’m proud of what this team did today.”
