August 9, 2002 | 12:00 A.M. EST
Schrader and the “M&M’s”® car will start from the 41st position in the field. He qualified with a time of 73.751 seconds (119.592 mph). Ricky Rudd, driver of the No. 28 Havoline car, took the pole with a speed of 122.696 mph.
“We were a little freer than we needed to be in qualifying,” Schrader said. “We’re going to have to work hard on Sunday, but there are several good places to pass at the Glen. Despite our qualifying effort, I think we should have a pretty good little car for Sunday’s race.”
Sunday’s Sirius Satellite Radio at the Glen will air live on NBC at 1 p.m. eastern time.
