Holiday Wishes

It’s a shame Christmas comes only once a year. And not because of the time off or the presents or the endless trail of goodies to eat. The Christmas season brings such a sense of goodwill to us all that magically helps us to forget, if only for a few days, the pain, tragedy and suffering of the entire year.

I would imagine I’m not alone in bidding a not-so-fond farewell to 2001. The events of the real world as well of the racing world made this past year very memorable, but for all the wrong reasons. Who could have imagined what was in store for us as we celebrated the holidays a year ago? Dale Earnhardt dying in the Daytona 500? Ridiculous! Terrorists flying planes into the World Trade Center? Outrageous! It’s just another reminder of how precious life is and how we should count our blessings every day we’re able to wake up, get out of bed and go about our lives.

Our lives here at RacingOne revolve around the auto racing world. It's a subject that all of us connected with RacingOne and our parent company, TEAMTalk Media Group, eat, sleep and breathe. Our goal has always been to provide our readers with the most in-depth, comprehensive and complete coverage of motorsports anywhere.

It’s almost too easy for us because the people that generate all of the stories, features, race reports, columns, statistics, games and material you see on absolutely love what they do. In fact, I’d wager that if any member of our staff had a weekend off (which is pretty much impossible in our business) they’d be in the stands at some race somewhere.

We’ve tried to follow a vision at RacingOne, a vision that has evolved and been shaped by our readers. We have thoroughly enjoyed your letters and phone calls telling us what you like and don’t care for over the past year and encourage you to keep those cards and letters coming. We have several new and exciting features and ideas in store for 2002 and appreciate your support and input.

We think we’ve assembled the best editorial staff in the racing industry and, judging by your feedback, many of you do too. From our award-winning group of nationally-known columnists to our hard-working editors and staff writers, we are extremely proud of the RacingOne team. You can count on the entertaining and informative writing and coverage you’ve come to expect from us to continue in 2002.

In all honesty, however, we couldn’t do any of this without you. It’s because of the interest and support of our readers that RacingOne has grown to where it is today, the ultimate destination for auto racing news and information. We thank you for your encouragement and appreciate your coming along for the ride.

From all of us at RacingOne, our best wishes for a joyful holiday season and happy, healthy new year.
