Speedleague Down To The Wire
November 21, 2001 | 12:00 A.M. EST
It’s a close battle for the SpeedLeague Winston Cup Free championship, with “canuck” in the lead, but “jester-racing20” is only 14 points back, and “Without Hope” only 77 points back of the leader. It’s gonna be exciting!
In any given race weekend a SpeedLeague team can earn a total 1,161 points (if all seven drivers finish in the top 7, each lead a lap, and one leads the most laps). That means right now, there are more than 20 teams eligible to storm back to win the Free League championship, and there 12 teams within 200 points of the leader.
With tens of thousands of teams playing the Winston Cup Free game, whoever wins should be proud!
On the Premium side, “jimbomotors” leads “sejblstable” by more than 300 points going into the New Hampshire 300. “Woohoo hammerdown” is currently tenth in the premium standings, just over 500 points behind the leader.
Good luck to all the teams out there and we’ll let everyone know who won both leagues as soon as we know, which should be Friday late afternoon.
Stay tuned to SpeedLeague and RacingOne.com to learn more information about the All-New SpeedLeague 2002, which will include new features and the chance to win up to $25,000 in cash prizes! Sign ups for the Winston Cup, CART, and IRL seasons should begin in early 2002.
In the meantime have a great Holiday Season.
