Schrader's Statement On Daytona
"Going back to Daytona won't be any harder for us than it has been every other day since Dale's accident. I think about him all the time, and there probably hasn't been a day go by that I haven't thought about Teresa and the kids. Every day and every race has felt a little different, regardless of where we are.

"Do I think there could be a 20-car pile-up at Daytona? Yes. Do I think the race could go caution free? Absolutely.

"As for NASCAR, I've said before that I think they are doing exactly what needs to be done for the investigation. They may not tell everyone everything they know, but there is no reason they should. Any time a driver or crew chief has a question, they can walk up onto the NASCAR hauler and get an answer. Until NASCAR has completed all their tests and investigations, there is really nothing for them to tell."

Schrader's Daytona Highlights
  • The "M&M's"® Racing Team is taking the same car to Daytona that raced at Talladega in April. The "M&M's"® Pontiac started from the 34th position in Talladega, but just six laps later the No. 36 Pontiac was posted in the 11th position. Schrader maintained his strong performance, moving to fifth on lap 44, then leading the field to the green on laps 48-49. The team never got a chance to see where the car would finish as they experienced a problem and ran out of gas before their scheduled stop on lap 50.

  • It is red, white and blue again this Fourth of July for the "M&M's"® Racing Team. The "M&M's"® Pontiac is carrying a special paint scheme for the Independence Day weekend, donning a waving flag motif, complete with Green dressed as the Statue of Liberty.
