Penske Camp Clarifies Investigation

According to officials at Penske Motorsports, the article printed on RacingOne.com regarding the Rusty Wallace FBI Investigation is not entirely truthful.

The article, originally run on Thursday, May 11, indicates that the Federal Bureau of Investigation is looking into the possible theft of Rusty Wallace driver uniforms, helmets, and other items. According to the article, at least one crew member has been fired as a result of the investigation.

While Penske Motorsports does not deny that an investigation is in process, it claims that the FBI has not been brought in. Instead, officials say, the investigator is merely a retired FBI Agent, who now works for the team as a security guard. Penske representatives also claim the crew member in question was fired for reasons completely unrelated to the investigation.
