Busy Season Shaping Up At Bill Davis Racing

Driver Ward Burton is just three points behind NASCAR Winston Cup Series leader Bobby Labonte; the team is nearing the completion of a new race shop; and 21 team members have been added to the Winston Cup teams of Burton’s No. 22 and Dave Blaney’s No. 93 and the No. 20 Busch Series team of Mike Borkowski. Perhaps high on the list of priorities when adding members to the staff is the segment of the organization preparing for the Dodge’s debut in 2001.
The new faces include Mike Baxter, new controller for Bill Davis Racing, and Mike Gross, now Bill Davis Racing parts manager after more than two decades of service for several major vendors in the motorsports industry.
"We’ve worked extremely hard throughout our growth here to surround our programs with the best people available," said Mike Brown, general manager at Bill Davis Racing. "In some instances, we have delayed filling positions so that we could wait on just the right people to become available. We’re at a very critical stage in the shaping of our organization as we continue to grow and to hopefully improve the quality and performance of our three programs. We feel that the addition of these people will help us continue our successful climb."
