Team NEMCO Crew Chief Fined

DAYTONA BEACH -- NASCAR officials announced Monday, they have penalized NASCAR Busch Series crew chief Brian Pattie for rules violations found in post-race inspection following Saturday's Touchstone Energy 300 at Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Ala.

Pattie, crew chief of the No. 87 NEMCO Chevrolet, was fined $20,000 and penalized under Section 12-4-A in the NASCAR Busch Series Rule Book: "...actions deemed by NASCAR Officials as detrimental to stock car racing..." and Rule 12.8.1-D: "...the quarter panel height(s) did not meet minimum specifications..."

Nemechek earned his ninth career Busch Series victory in the event. NASCAR officials did not elaborate on whether or not they would take points away or strip Nemechek of the win.

Nemechek has had some problems in the past, and his time during qualifying for the Busch Series event at Daytona International Speedway in February of this year was thrown out due to a weight-distribution violation.
