MOORESVILLE, N.C. - Two-time NASCAR Nationwide Series champion Kevin Harvick has signed with JR Motorsports to compete in a minimum of 12 races in 2014.
Funding will come from Hunt Brothers Pizza, which will be a primary sponsor in four events and an associate sponsor in the others. The company will be featured on the No. 5 Chevrolet in races at Bristol, Charlotte and Texas.
JR Motorsports’ No. 5 entry is traditionally shared by multiple drivers. The 2014 lineup for those races in which Harvick will not compete is still being determined.
"I’ve known Kevin for a long time. He’s an incredible racer," said team owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. "He will be a huge asset to JR Motorsports, our sponsors and fans. I’m grateful that he wants to drive our cars."
Harvick won his Nationwide Series championships in 2001 and 2006. He is third on the all-time series win list - behind Kyle Busch and Mark Martin - with 40 victories, including one earlier this season at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Next season will mark Hunt Brothers Pizza's seventh year of NASCAR involvement and its fourth utilizing Harvick as a spokesperson.
