DOVER, Del. - Joey Logano scored his fourth consecutive NASCAR Nationwide victory at Dover International Speedway, winning from the pole Saturday afternoon.

Logano's car, though, failed post-race inspection. NASCAR stated that the front end of Logano's car was too low on both sides. Penalties are expected to be announced early next week.

Points leader Sam Hornish Jr. saw his advantage shrink after a pit call that didn’t work and a speeding penalty that ruined his day. He finished 17th and has a four-point lead on Austin Dillon with five races left in the season. No other driver is within 40 points of the lead.

No one could stop Logano from winning at Dover again. He led a race-high 106 of 200 laps.

“Fast racecar,’’ Logano said. “We started the race too loose and they went for it. These Nationwide races are short, and you’ve got to make big swings really early.’’

Crew chief Jeremy Bullins made the right calls to give Logano the car he needed.

“It’s just really cool to get four in a row here at Dover,’’ Logano said. “It’s been my favorite racetrack ever since I started here.’’

Kyle Larson finished second, matching his career-best finish. Kevin Harvick placed third with Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Brian Vickers and Elliott Sadler completing the top five.

“After the first Dover race, I thought this place sucked and it‘s all about how good your car is,’’ Larson said. “Today, I learned that the driver has a big key in it. You move around a lot throughout the race. I like this place a lot. It reminds me of a dirt track. You search around a lot.’’

Hornish’s woes began early with an ill-handling car. His team changed two tires on his first stop and that didn’t help. Hornish told the team during the stop that Logano, his teammate, was taking four tires.

“I even stalled it and they don’t put four (tires) on,’’ Hornish said. “I knew we were kind of sunk at that point. You can’t make one bad call and then have the driver speed on pit road and not give something up.’’

Hornish was caught speeding on his second pit stop and that ruined his day.

Hornish’s woes helped Dillon, who gained 11 points on the series leader.

“You can’t have mistakes like that when you’re running for a championship,’’ Dillon said. “The last five races, we have to finish in front of him every race and beat it into his head and he’ll know that we’re the best.’’

The race featured two cautions for 8 laps and did not have a caution in the last 160 laps. That impacted the strategy some teams had, including Kyle Busch.

He did not pit with the leaders early and was forced to pit under green. He also had to do that a second time, costing him a chance at the win. He finished eighth.
