Back-To-Back For Keselowski

Brad Keselowski charged from fourth to the lead on a green-white-checkered restart to win his second straight NASCAR Nationwide Series race Friday night in the Bubba Burger 250 at Richmond International Speedway.

Keselowski was in command of Friday night's race until a late caution flew when Paul Menard blew a tire. That forced an overtime finish and Keselowski elected to duck onto pit road for four fresh tires while others including pole sitter Kyle Busch stayed out.

But once the green flag flew for the final two lap shootout to the finish Keslowski worked his way around Busch and Greg Biffle to pick up the win and follow his victory at Talladega Superspeedway last Sunday.

“I wanted to play offense. I wanted to be the guy with tires,” said Keselowski. “I had to make my money there at the end and make all the right moves.

"It wouldn’t be right if I won a race without a bunch of drama. I knew the whole time we were running up front. I was thinking, ‘How is this going to fall apart?’ It’s more mentally draining leading a race than running fourth because all you do is worry.”

The victory helped Keselowski pad his Nationwide Series point lead which took a hit earlier this week when he was penalized 50 points for an illegal spring and shock found on his car after the Talladega win. Keselowski now leads Kevin Harvick by 59 points in the standings.

Biffle rallied from fifth to finish second with Jamie McMurray, Busch and Carl Edwards rounding out the top five.

Joey Logano, Harvick, Reed Sorenson, Brendan Gaughan and Matt Kenseth completed the first ten finishers.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series now heads to Darlington Raceway next Friday night.
