Home Win For Keselowski

BROOKLYN, Mich. - Brad Keselowski took advantage of a last lap battle between Kyle Busch and Brian Vickers and then made a last lap pass to win the NASCAR Nationwide Series CARFAX 250 at his home track, Michigan International Speedway.

Busch and Vickers made contact while racing for the lead in the closing laps of Saturday's 125 lap at the two-mile superspeedway. When they touched it allowed Keselowski, who was third on the final restart of the race with seven laps to go, to slip by and take the win in front of his home state fans and family.

"I'm sure I'm complaining and I'm whining and I'm a crybaby, but that's uncalled for," Busch said. "That's just stupid. I would have ran my own line instead of giving it to the third-place car and battle it out between the top two who deserved to win and deserved to battle the race out at the end. [Keselowski] didn't deserve to win."

Vickers had an opposing view of the scenario.

"I am so sorry. I forgot it was the Kyle Busch show," he said. "I thought we were out there racing for the win. I thought it was my job to hold him off - maybe not.

"He came over to the car after he knocked our fender in and started crying like a little baby. I asked him if he would just give me a minute to get out, we could talk about it like men. If he wanted to fight, that's fine with me. As soon as I got out, he ran off."

Keselowski celebrated the win in front of his home state family and fans.

"Oh my God, I won at home!" the JR Motorsports driver said. "I'm terrible here, and to win here is a major accomplishment. It's so cool to win in front of your hometown fans."

The win was the Rochester, Michigan native's fifth career Nationwide Series victory and third of the 2009 season.

Vickers followed Keselowski across the finish line with Busch third, ending his string of ten straight finishes first or second.

David Ragan and Kevin Harvick rounded out the top five.

Ryan Newman, Justin Allgaier, Greg Biffle, Jeff Burton and Paul Menard completed the first ten finishers.

Keselowski averaged 133.077 mph in the win and was ahead of Vickers by .199 seconds at the finish.

The race was slowed by four cautions for 21 laps, the first coming only one lap into the race when Trevor Bayne spun in front of Carl Edwards as the field raced out of turn two.

Edwards' car was severely damaged in the incident and he finished 40th.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series now heads to Bristol Motor Speedway next Friday night.
