Logano Masters Music City

Joey Logano held off his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch to win Saturday's NASCAR Nationwide Series Nashville 300 at Nashville Superspeedway.

Logano was able to stay in front of last week's Texas Nationwide race winner in a five lap shootout to the checkered flag to score his second career series win. He put his No. 20 Toyota out front for 95 laps en route to the third career 1-2 finish for JGR.

Logano passed Busch for the top spot with ten laps to go and went on to finish 0.487 seconds in front.

“It’s been awhile,” said Logano after winning for the first time since last June in Kentucky. “We had a really good run here the last time we were here and got caught up in a wreck. It was awesome to be able to get that win this time. Ever since I've been coming to Nashville - even at the fairgrounds I've been wanting to get that guitar and this is just awesome."

Busch tried to stay with his young teammate but fell back as the laps wore down after the day's final restart.

"He had a better car on the short run, and we had a better car on the long run,” Busch said. “[The team] did a great job, and it was just a shame we weren’t able to get out there and win this thing. That’s kind of frustrating, but we finished second today.”

The race was red flagged late for a spectacular crash on the frontstretch that involved Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Joe Nemechek. The duo made contact and slide into the infield gras but not before Nemechek's car flipped violently and ended up in the outside retianing wall.

But after winding up right side down, Nemechek fired up his engine and drove his battered car to pit road uninjured.

Brad Keselowski followed the JGR duo across the finish line in third with Kelly Bires, who was driving the Kevin Harvick Inc. No. 33 Chevy, fourth and Carl Edwards fifth.

Jason Leffler, David Ragan, Mike Bliss, Steve Wallace and Scott Lagasse, Jr. completed the first ten finishers.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series now heads to Phoenix International Raceway next Friday night.
