August 2, 2008 | 2:21 P.M. EST
It was Pruett's third career pole and he did it with a lap of 102.568 seconds at 95.082 mph in the Ganassi Fastenal Dodge.
Pruett will be joined on the front row by another road course expert - Max Papis, who is driving the No. 64 Chevrolet for Rusty Wallace.
Marcos Ambrose, who came close to winning this race last year, will start third.
Native Canadians Patrick Carpentier, Jacques Villeneuve and Ron Fellows rounded out the top five.
With the rain in Pocono, all the NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers that are running in today's race made the trip to Montreal to qualify. Greg Biffle was the best among the group after recording the 16th-best lap.
The NAPA Auto Parts 200 is scheduled to take the green flag at 2:30 p.m. (ET).
