DARLINGTON, S.C. - Matt Kenseth led fifty laps on his way to Victory Lane in Friday night's NASCAR Busch Series Diamond Hill Plywood 200 at Darlington Raceway after starting from the 24th position.

Kenseth, who regained the lead on lap 121 of 147, held off Kenny Wallace to score his 18th career win. It was his second win and seventh top-five in 11 races at Darlington. The win was also his first since Atlanta last October.

"The is one of the most fun racetracks we come to," said Kenseth. "This track is a lot like Rockingham which was one of my favorites."

Wallace has now finished second twice this season and is still searching for his first victory since 2001. It was his best finish at Darlington.

"Man I came so close again," said Wallace. "I'm going to get another one sooner or later."

Martin Truex, Jr. came home third in his first trip back to Darlington since clinching the championship last November.

"I was just off at the start and made adjustments," said Truex. "We were just one pit stop away from being perfect. But we won last week and finished stong here so we're on the comeback trail."

Greg Biffle, who had a strong car in the first half, led 27 laps and finished fourth.

On the sixth and final caution, Kenseth almost came in to pit while leading. He quickly turned right back on the track before the commitment cone when he noticed no one was following. Jeff Burton, who was running sixth, did pit for fresh tires and restarted 10th with seven to go. He battled back to finish fifth.

David Stremme, Denny Hamlin, Jeremy Mayfield, Tony Raines and Clint Bowyer completed the top-10.

Polesitter Jimmie Johnson led the opening 14 laps but quickly faded. He finished 23rd, one lap down.

Carl Edwards maintained his championship lead over Clint Bowyer with his 11th-place finish. Wallace gained the most positions among the Busch Series regulars moving up four markers to sixth.

The Busch Series now heads to Richmond International Raceway next Friday night.
