Kevin Harvick turned in a dominating performance leading a record 248 of 250 laps to win the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Kroger 250 at Martinsville Speedway.

Harvick started from the pole and easily picked up his first victory of the season and 14th of his NCWTS career.

The Richard Childress Racing driver has won four truck series poles and gone to Victory Lane in every one of those starts.

“The truck was good right off the trailer,” Harvick said. “What else can you say? It’s a lot of fun.”

Harvick’s run eclipsed the series mark previously held by Mike Skinner, who led 247 of 250 laps on his way to a Martinsville win in 2007.

“I’ve always liked racing here no matter what, whether it’s the truck or the Cup car,’ said Harvick, who will try for the weekend sweep in Sunday’s Sprint Cup Series Goody’s Fast Relief 500. “It’s a fun track and one where we’ve had some success that I hope will continue tomorrow.”

Harvick’s RCR teammate Ty Dillon finished second for his career best series finish in only his fifth start.

Dillon led the only two laps Harvick didn’t Saturday afternoon.

“Second place for my first start at Martinsville, I’ll take it,” said the younger brother of last year’s truck series champion Austin Dillon. “We had a tough day yesterday. We had a strong truck today, and it showed. We were real solid in the pits. We never fell back further than third.”

Harvick, who closed his Kevin Harvick Inc. truck series operation at the end of last season, is thankful to have a chance to remain in the series with RCR.

“It's been a long time since we dominated like that and actually won,” Harvick said. “We made a lot of changes in the off-season, moving our truck teams over to Richard Childress Racing. This is what we hoped for, making a good truck team a better truck team. Some of these guys had been to Victory Lane and some of them hadn't.”

James Buescher, Justin Lofton and Timothy Peters rounded out the top 5.

Nelson Piquet Jr., Ross Chastain, Jason Leffler, John King and Jason White completed the first 10 finishers.

Daytona season opener winner King stayed on top of the series standings by one point over Peters with two races in the book.

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series now heads to Rockingham Speedway on Sunday, April 15.
