Kyle Busch scored his 25th career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win Friday night outrunning Clint Bowyer in the Lucas Oil 150 at Phoenix International Raceway.

Busch and Bowyer dominated the race and were the only two leaders of the 150-lap affair around the one-mile oval. But Busch pulled away on the race’s final restart and easily drove his Toyota to the victory.

The duo had to overcome three restarts in the final 25 laps before deciding Friday night’s race.

“It got wild there at the end with all that was going on but we were good on restarts and that was obviously important,” Busch said.

Busch picked up his second career win at Phoenix and the 87th NASCAR National Series victory tying him for sixth on the all-time list with Jeff Gordon.

“It’s great to get a first win this season for Kyle Busch Motorsports,” said Busch on his second year truck organization. “We had a good first year but that doesn’t mean anything. You have to keep working hard and that’s what this team did so it feels good to pay it off with a win like this tonight.”

In all Busch led 107 laps while Bowyer was out front for 43. But in the end Busch was just too strong for Bowyer.

"Got beat. What more can you say?...I couldn't do nothing with him," said Bowyer who started from the pole.

Ron Hornaday, Johnny Sauter and Austin Dillon rounded out the top five.

"Tonight we just got flat beat," said Hornaday who gave Kevin Harvick Inc. the second and third finishing spots coming in behind teammate Bowyer.

Rookie Cole Whitt, Matt Crafton, Justin Johnson, Joey Coulter and Jason White completed the first ten finishers

Since Busch is ineligible for the NCWTS title since declaring for the Sprint Cup championship he did not earn points for the win.

Crafton leads the championship standings by one over Clay Rogers who came into the race at the top spot.

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series returns to action on Saturday, March 12 with a trip to Darlington Raceway.
