Hamlin has competed in 11 NCWTS races, scoring four top-10s and one top-five finish. Four of the eleven starts were with BBM. His best finish came at Atlanta Motor Speedway in 2008, which he finished in third-place driving the No. 15 truck. Hamlin also led 64 laps at Martinsville Speedway in 2008 while driving for BBM.
"This is a great opportunity," said Hamlin. "Billy Ballew Motorsports has given me great equipment in the past and I'm really looking forward to racing with them again. The truck races are so much fun. Those guys race really, really hard all race long. I really enjoy racing at Pocono and can't wait to get there and go truck racing."
Hamlin has ruled over Pocono Raceway in recent years. In his nine Sprint Cup Series starts at the "Tricky Triangle," he has achieved a total of two poles and four wins behind the wheel of the No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing entry. Hamlin won the two most recent events and is tied for second-place with Jeff Gordon for wins among active drivers at the track.
The Pocono Mountains 125 will be the debut event at Pocono Raceway for the NCWTS. Hamlin's track record has Billy Ballew optimistic about the No. 15 team's performance in the inaugural race.
"I'm thrilled to have Denny Hamlin racing with us at Pocono," said Billy Ballew, team owner of BBM. "Denny obviously knows how to get around that track pretty well. His record is spectacular. Every time that he's driven for us, he's done a great job. We're competitive whenever he's behind the wheel of our trucks and I'm sure he'll be one of the top contenders at Pocono."
