Monster Triple For Busch

Kyle Busch will be back in his No. 18 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Toyota on Friday for his first of three races this weekend at Dover International Speedway.

Busch, who shares the No. 18 with Brian Ickler, has made three Truck Series starts so far this season with his last resulting in a win - the first for Kyle Busch Motorsports - at Nashville Superspeedway.

With previous success on concrete tracks, Busch looks to carry the momentum into Dover from not only the win, but a fourth-place finish for the team by Ickler at Kansas Speedway two weeks ago.

"I've always seemed to run well at the concrete tracks," said Busch, who has scored victories in all divisions raced at three concrete tracks in NASCAR's top divisions. "I'm not sure what the secret is, but we've been able to have success at all three concrete tracks that NASCAR runs on. When there isn't a whole lot of rubber on the track, it can get slick. But once the rubber gets onto the track in practice, it gets a lot better."

Busch's first win at Dover came in the Truck Series in 2005 before Dover switched to the well-known Monster trophy. After grabbing Monster trophies in both the Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series in 2008, Busch now looks to add a Truck one with a victory in the Dover 200.

"That trophy is a pretty cool trophy," Busch said. "It's really neat to win that thing. The hand (on the Sprint Cup trophy) can hold a real die-cast, and you know that's pretty cool. I got the die-cast with the car that I won there with in it."

Busch currently sits second in the owner's standings with the No. 18 Truck and his second full-time driver Tayler Malsam is 12th in the point standings. With a victory already under his belt, Busch is happy with the way the team has come together in such a short period of time.

"Rick Ren (director of competition) has done a really good job, as have the crew chiefs, Dan Stillman and Eric Phillips," Busch said. "We've built some really good trucks and everyone's working very hard. Obviously, getting that first win at Nashville was huge and Brian ran really well at Martinsville and Kansas. Tayler's had good runs, but luck hasn't been on his side and he's been caught up in some things."

Busch is still seeking sponsorship for his program in 2010. He landed Heluva Good! and Dollar General in previous races, but Toyota has also stepped up to help his program, including being on both trucks at Dover.

"Toyota has been a huge asset for us," Busch said. "We'd like to get some sponsorship. We've had a lot of phone calls, a lot of people are interested. Just, unfortunately, we haven't had things go down the way we would have liked to get some sponsorship on these trucks to make sure everything is funded for the whole season. We're going to run the whole season, regardless."

Practice for the NCWTS Dover 200 begins today starting at 2:30 p.m. (ET). Friday's race can be heard on MRN Radio at 5 p.m. (ET).
