Busch Thunders To Truck Win

Kyle Busch ended Ron Hornaday's winning streak at five with a victory in Wednesday night's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series O'Reilly 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Busch scored his third win of the season and derailed Hornaday's attempt at a sixth consecutive victory.

"I love this place," said Busch, who now has five career Bistol wins in NASCAR's top three divisions. "This just gets the momentum going and reminds you that you can do it. When you don't win on the Cup side, it gets very frustrating. It's good to be back in Victory Lane."

A cut tire earlier in the race thwarted Hornaday's opportunity for another win, however he was able to rebound to notch a third-place finish.

"This has just been unbelievable. In one way I'm glad it's over so you guys can quit talking about it," said Hornaday.

Busch wrestled the lead away from Jason White on lap 124 and held on to give the Billy Ballew Motorsports team the win.

But his only pit stop of the night - coming on laps 36 and then 37 for fuel and tires - was the difference according to Hornaday.

"Kyle out-tricked us on the stop and came right back down the next lap for fuel while I waited a lap," he said. "Pit stop strategy screwed myself right there tonight. We'll be ready the next time we come to Bristol, that's for sure. It's been a great ride, we've had a lot of fun and we're not done yet."

Matt Crafton was second and though he might have had a chance to chase down Busch in the closing laps.

"I hated to see the caution come out with about 30 to go," Crafton said. "If we would have stayed green, we were better than him on the long run. He was better on the short runs."

Hornaday, pole-sitter Ryan Newman and Brian Scott rounded out the top five.

The Camping World Truck Series now heads to Chicagoland Speedway to make its debut at the 1.5-mile track on Friday night August 28th.
