Sadler Tries Out Trucks

NASCAR Winston Cup driver Elliott Sadler will compete in the Craftsman Truck Series race at Richmond International Raceway next Thursday, driving for Long Brothers Racing.

Sadler, a Virginia native, will be in a Ford sponsored by Motorcraft and Team Ford Racing, a fan club of the manufacturer. Sadler also drives a Motorcraft Ford on the Winston Cup circuit.

Sadler finished 29th last year in a truck race at Richmond.

Sadler will be doing double-duty at Richmond, with his main focus on winning the Chevrolet Monte Carlo 400. Sadler is one of the Winston No Bull 5 competitors, meaning he’ll win $1 million if he wins the Chevy 400. Sadler became eligible by finishing third in the Pepsi 400 at Daytona.

“This is a great opportunity to bring Motorcraft and Team Ford Racing together from a marketing standpoint while giving Elliott some valuable track time in preparation for the No Bull 5 on Saturday,” Ford Customer Service Division motorsport manager Charles Kim said. “This should help him for his first – and the Wood Brothers’ first – No Bull 5 run, which we’re all very excited about.”
