DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – NASCAR has handed down penalties to a pair of K&N Pro Series East teams including that of points leader Corey LaJoie.

Jesse Little's No. 97 team also was penalized as a result of rules violations committed last Saturday at Greenville (S.C.) Pickens Speedway.

LaJoie's No. 07 team was penalized for an unapproved modification to the carburetor metering block that was discovered on his Sims Metal Management Ford during post-race inspection.  Section 20C-4.1B of the NASCAR rule book states, in part, that there can be "no modifications to the carburetor and carburetor spacer; must remain as supplied by the NASCAR-approved supplier."

Ron Otto, LaJoie's crew chief, has been fined $5,000, suspended from NASCAR until the fine is paid and placed on probation for the next NASCAR K&N Pro Series East event, this coming weekend's season finale at Rockingham Speedway.  Car owner Randy LaJoie and the driver have each been docked 25 championship points.

That will knock Corey LaJoie out of the points lead and into third place, now 19 behind leader Kyle Larson entering the final race of the season.

Little's No. 97 team was penalized after a left-front spring was found to be less than the minimum diameter allowed, exceeding the maximum height as well.  The violation was discovered during post-race inspection.

Crew chief Kris Bowen has been fined $750 and suspended from NASCAR until the fine is paid.
