AGR Signs Mutoh

Andretti Green Racing has signed Indy Pro Series driver Hideki Mutoh's to drive the team's No. 27 for the 2008 season.

"I am very excited to be joining Andretti Green Racing. The team's record is very impressive and I am hopeful that I can contribute to its future success," Mutoh said. "I am very eager for the 2008 season to begin and am looking forward to working with all of my new teammates."

Mutoh spent the past season driving in the Indy Pro Series for Panther Racing, where he won races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (road course) and Kentucky Speedway. In 15 IPS starts with the team, Mutoh collected seven podium, 10 top-five and 12 top-10 finishes.

The Japanese driver also made his IndyCar Series debut in a Panther car last season at Chicagoland Speedway, where he finished in eighth place.

"We've been impressed with Hideki since the first open test of 2007 when I got a look at him in an Indy Pro Series car for the first time. I think he's got a lot of talent and a lot of potential, especially in our system at Andretti Green," Michael Andretti, Chairman, Andretti Green Racing said. "He is going to have three great teammates to lean on and that should really help his learning curve as a rookie."
