A.J. Foyt IV, the 22-year-old grandson of open wheel legend A.J. Foyt Jr., is expected to be confirmed as the third driver at Vision Racing in 2007 alongside Tomas Scheckter and Ed Carpenter.

"I've kind of been hounding him (about a ride) for quite awhile," Foyt said of Tony George, owner of Vision Racing, in today's edition of the Indianapolis Star. "At this point, I don't even know who the sponsor is or what the car number is."

However, when approached by RacingOne about this subject, Foyt called the report "premature."

A native of Hockley, Texas, Foyt has competed in 48 IRL IndyCar Series races, notching three top-10 finishes with a best result of ninth at both Homestead-Miami Speedway and Kentucky Speedway in 2005.

Last season, he spent time driving for Akins Motorports in the NASCAR Busch Series. He made seven starts in the series, with his best result coming on the road course in Mexico City (21st).

Foyt will get a chance to get acquainted with his new teammates and owner in the very near future, as all four will comprise the No. 00 Vision Racing Porsche Crawford entry in the Daytona Prototype class at the Rolex 24 At Daytona.
