Herta Captures Superspeedway Pole

"The XM Satellite Radio car was very fast today and I'm really pleased about that," said Herta. "This is a track with a lot of different grooves, so just because we're on the pole, I don't expect it to be a lot easier than it would be if we'd qualified anywhere else."
Herta previously captured poles at the season's first race in St. Petersburg and at Phoenix. He failed to maintain the lead, posting seventh- and fourth-place finishes, respectively.
Starting next to Herta, on the front row for the fourth time this season is Tomas Scheckter. Scheckter previously captured two pole positions at Michigan in 2002 and 2003.
Defending race winner Buddy Rice and Scott Dixon will start on the second row.
