IRL To Milwaukee In 2004

Sources have told RacingOne that the IndyCar Series will compete at the legendary one-mile track on Sunday, July 25, 2004. The event will be supported by a USAC tripleheader on Saturday, July 24 featuring the sanctioning body's Silver Crown, Sprint Car and National Midget divisions.
CART, if still in operation, has an exclusive agreement with Milwaukee to run the weekend after the Indianapolis 500. This year's event, run under a temporary lighting system, was a success despite unseasonably cold weather.
The addition of the IRL date would make Milwaukee and California Speedway the only two tracks hosting both open wheel circuits.
Milwaukee is also expected to add an American Speed Association event, probably during the 2004 Wisconsin State Fair in August, to next year's schedule as well.
