Kelley Files Three For Indy

Kelley became the second team to file three entries for Indy, following CART FedEX Championship Series regular Team Green. Al Unser Jr. will drive the No. 7 Corteco/Bryant Dallara/Chevrolet, with an identical backup entered and Scott Sharp, 2001 Indianapolis 500 MBNA Pole winner, will drive the No. 8 Delphi/Dallara/Chevrolet, with an identical backup entered. Kelley also entered the No. 28 car with a driver and chief mechanic to be named later.
The Treadway team meanwhile entered the No. 55 Airlink Enterprises/Spade Motorsports G Force/Chevrolet, and identical backup, for rookie Rick Treadway. The youngster will join two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Arie Luyendyk at the speedway for the team.
Entry invitations for the 86th Indianapolis 500 were mailed Feb. 22, and entries must be postmarked by April 3. All drivers will compete for one of the 33 starting spots when the month of May begins.
