Gregoire will run a series of demonstration laps, hopefully at speed, as a preview to the IRNLS race at PIR on March 18.
"It's a great opportunity not only for me and my team, but for the Indy Racing Northern Light Series to show the fans in the grandstands how fast the Indy cars will run at Phoenix," said Gregoire, who could reach speeds of up to 170 mph in his G Force-Oldsmobile. "NASCAR has some very enthusiastic fans, and I am sure there are many of them who have never seen an Indy car run before.
"I hope we can run enough laps to get up to speed and show these fans just how fast we run. I think it's a great opportunity, and I am very happy to do it."
The Winston Cup cars run laps in the 130-mph range at PIR.
In a similar promotion, IRNLS driver Scott Sharp ran laps at speed at Richmond International Raceway in conjunction with the Chevrolet Monte Carlo 400 on Sept. 9. The IRNLS will visit Richmond on June 30 for a night race.
