Indy Racing Northern Light Series driver Shigeaki Hattori was released from Methodist Hospital with no injuries Wednesday after crashing during testing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, said Dr. Henry Bock, IMS medical director.

Hattori, 37, did a half spin and hit the outside retaining wall between turns one and two of the 2.5-mile oval while testing the EPSON G Force-Oldsmobile for Hubbard-Treadway Racing.

Hattori completed 145 laps of testing with a top speed of more than 219 mph. Hattori finished fifth in this season's RaceSearch.com Rookie of the Year point standings despite competing in only five of nine races.
