Gregoire Unhurt In Test Crash At Texas

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indy Racing Northern Light Series veteran Stephan Gregoire was unhurt in an accident during testing for the Excite 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.

Gregoire walked away from the accident after losing control of the Team Mexmil G Force/Oldsmobile fielded by Dick Simon Racing. The car suffered heavy damage.

According to reports from the track, Gregoire spun into the infield and went into a series of flips, eventually landing upside down.

"We're not sure exactly what happened," said crew chief Rich Simon. "We're still trying to determine that.

"We're now going to work on preparing the backup car for next week's race."

Gregoire joined Greg Ray, Mark Dismore, Robby McGehee and Shigeaki Hattori in testing Oct. 5 at Texas in preparation for the season-ending Excite 500 on Oct. 15 at the track.
