No. 2 Starworks Motorsport Team Penalized

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - GRAND-AM Road Racing has issued penalties to the No. 2 Starworks Motorsport team that competes in the Rolex Sports Car Series.
A rule infraction was discovered following the March 2 GRAND-AM of The Americas in Austin, Texas. Unauthorized modifications were found on the fueling probe of the team's Ford/Riley Daytona Prototype. As a result, the Starworks and drivers Ryan Dalziel and Alex Popow have each been docked three championship points. Ford has been penalized three manufacturer championship points.
In addition, the No. 2 team has been fined $5,000 - payable to Camp Boggy Creek, the official charity of GRAND-AM.
With the penalty, Dalziel and Popow will remain third in DP points but are now 11 behind leaders Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas. They finished second in the Austin race, behind Jon Fogarty and Alex Gurney.
