Speed Confirmed At Toro Rosso

In typical Red Bull fashion, the Italian outfit played word games within their statement, using the word "speed" repeatedly throughout the short announcement. At the end of the communication, the American's return was affirmed.
"And just in case you think from reading the above, that we have a limited vocabulary when it comes to talking about speed, Scuderia Toro Rosso is happy to confirm that Scott Speed will once again race for the team this season."
Speed will drive the No. 19 Scuderia Toro Rosso Ferrari alongside teammate Vitantonio Liuzzi, whose return was announced on February 13. The 11 day delay between the two announcements led many to speculate that team co-owner Gerhard Berger may be looking at other options, including Champ Car World Series three-time champion Sebastien Bourdais, who tested with the team at the end of 2006.
Berger gave further credence to that notion just two days ago when he told Autosport.com that Speed "needs also to bring a commitment."
"I believe that with his natural talent he can do a reasonable job. But he is not at a talent stage where he doesn't need to work."
However, Berger and the rest of the management group insisted that the Manteca, California native was on "pole position" for the ride.
